A breakthrough originating in Tianqiao District, Jinan, has reached global impact
For a long time, sandstorms severely affected spring farming in northwest China. Each year during the sowing and germination period, strong winds of Force 6 or higher would erode the soil and blow sand, damaging seeds and young plants. This situation changed in 2015 when Qin Yunhan, freshly graduated with a master's degree, began his entrepreneurial venture in Jinan, dedicated to enhancing agriculture through technology. Together with partners who shared his vision, he founded a startup focused on developing new materials aimed at agricultural progress and environmental protection.
风沙危害,是长期困扰我国西北沙区春耕生产的顽疾。每到播种出苗季,六级以上大风频发,沙粒击打、风蚀破土。2015年,硕士毕业的秦韵涵怀揣科技助农的初心,与志同道合的伙伴在济南开启创业之路,深耕农业与环保新材料领域。
Fast-tracking R&D after field surveys in Xinjiang, Qin’s team developed an agricultural windbreak and sand-fixing agent in just one year. The initial 30-ton batch of the product was rushed to Bayingolin Mongolian Autonomous Prefecture. All team members stayed on-site in the farmland to carry out repeated trials and parameter adjustments. In the end, the agent delivered outstanding performance during the sandstorm season: the treated farmland was covered with a dense yet breathable protective layer that retained moisture, stabilized topsoil and mitigated wind erosion. This innovation eliminated the age-old predicament of“having to secure mulch edges ahead of storms and replant seedlings afterward.” Since then, the agent has been promoted and implemented as a demonstration project across nearly 10,000 mu of farmland.
奔赴新疆实地走访后,团队加速攻关,仅用一年便研制出农用防风固沙剂。首批30吨产品紧急运抵巴州,全员驻扎田间反复调试,最终在风沙季大显成效——喷洒后的耕地形成致密透气保护层,锁水固土、抵御风蚀,一举打破“大风压膜、风后补苗”的困境,示范推广近万亩。
After years of upgrading, this Jinan-originated technology has been applied across more than one million mu of farmland in 12 cities spanning five provincial-level regions—including Xinjiang and Inner Mongolia—benefiting more than 9,600 farmers. In places such as Altay in Xinjiang, abandoned sandy land has been revitalized with the agent, buoying the land contract prices by 100 yuan per mu. The success has earned Qin’s team numerous awards. In 2022, his company launched a smart production line with an annual capacity of 10,000 tons, laying a solid foundation for large-scale commercialization.
历经数年迭代,这套源自济南的技术已覆盖新疆、内蒙古等五省区十二市,惠及9600余农户,应用面积突破100万亩。在新疆阿勒泰等地,撂荒沙地重获生机,土地承包单价每亩上涨百元。团队也屡获国内外行业奖项。2022年,企业建成产能万吨的智能化生产线,夯实规模化基础。
Rooted in China but driven by a global vision, the company is steadily expanding its international footprint. In 2023, the company's sand-fixing products were deployed in Mauritania to support Africa's Great Green Wall initiative. That same year, Qin delivered a keynote address at the United Nations Desertification Control Forum held in the Taklamakan Desert. In 2024, the company’s technology was showcased at the Conference of the Parties (COP16) of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) held in Saudi Arabia. At the Eco Expo Central Asia 2025, Qin shared an integrated solution for sand fixation, water retention, and soil improvement with representatives from over 30 countries.
立足国内,放眼全球。2023年,固沙产品落地毛里塔尼亚,助力非洲绿色长城项目;同年,他登上塔克拉玛干联合国治沙论坛作主旨报告。2024年,技术亮相沙特联合国防治荒漠化公约大会。2025年,在中亚生态博览会上,他为30多国分享固沙、保水、改土一体化方案。
From laboratories in Jinan to millions of mu of revitalized farmland in Northwest China, and further to deserts across Asia and Africa, Qin Yunhan has always stayed true to his mission of giving back to society through scientific research. Moving forward, he will continue upgrading the technology and scaling up production to provide Chinese solutions for rural revitalization and the global fight against desertification.
