在玉皇顶东侧的日观峰下，
Beneath the Riguan Peak east of Yuhuang Peak
有一块巨石耸立，
stands a towering boulder
名叫拱北石。
known as the“Gongbei Stone”．
因其形状犹如起身探海，
Resembling a figure leaning forward to greet the sea，
又称“探海石”，
it is also called the“Stone of Sea Exploration”
是泰山著名标志性景观。
and serves as an iconic landmark of Mount Tai．
更是登岱顶朝望日出、
This site is revered as the ideal vantage point to witness the sunrise at dawn，
暮观晚霞、
admire the sunset’s glow，
晴赏山河、
marvel at the mountains and rivers in clear weather，
阴看云海最理想的地点。
and behold the rolling sea of clouds on overcast days．
清代李兴祖登临此处，看到磅礴之景，
During the Qing Dynasty， poet Li Xingzu， awestruck by its grandeur，
就此留下
inscribed these verses：
“才听天鸡报晓声，
“As the celestial rooster heralds dawn，
扶桑旭日已初明。
the sun ascends from Fusang’s edge．
苍茫海气连云动，
Mist merges with clouds over boundless seas；
石上有人别有情”的优美诗句。
upon this stone， hearts stir with wonder．”
拱北石向前横出，
The Gongbei Stone juts forward
颇像一把带鞘的利剑斜刺苍天，
like a sheathed sword piercing the heavens．
长6．5米、
Measuring approximately 6．5 meters long，
宽3．2米、
3．2 meters wide，
厚1．5米左右，
and 1．5 meters thick，
因它向北探伸，故而得名。
it derives its name from its northward tilt．
其实拱北石并非指向正北，
Contrary to its title，
而是北偏西8°左右。
the stone aligns 8 degrees west of true north
巨石与地面夹角为30°，高出周围地面，
and angles 30 degrees from the ground．
其北、东两面又均为悬崖峭壁，
Perched above cliffs on its northern and eastern sides，
显得神奇而又险峻。
it exudes an aura of mystique and daring．
拱北石就像一只报晓的雄鸡，气宇轩昂地伫立在泰山之巅，
Like a majestic rooster heralding daybreak， it stands atop Mount Tai，
为世人迎来辉煌的黎明。
welcoming the world to each glorious dawn．
泰山位于神州大地的东方，是太阳升起的地方，是万物生发之地，
As the easternmost of China’s sacred peaks， Mount Tai symbolizes the cradle of the rising sun and the genesis of all life．
当东方的霞光洒满大地，
When dawn’s light bathes the land，
泰山俨然化身为一座沟通天地神人的光辉圣殿。
the mountain transforms into a radiant bridge between heaven， earth， and humanity．
在泰山地区出土的大汶口文化陶器上有太阳纹图案，
Sun motifs adorn Dawenkou culture pottery unearthed here，
泰山民间信仰的两大主神东岳大帝和碧霞元君，“金虹”“碧霞”含有阳光之意。
while the titles of its twin deities—Dongyue Emperor （Lord of the Eastern Peak） and Bixia Yuanjun （Goddess of the Dawn）—evoke the splendor of sunlight．
更有梁启超的《少年中国说》的首句即是：

红日初升，其道大光。
“The red sun rises； its path blazes bright．”
