岱顶孔子庙尤为夺目，
the Confucius Temple on the summit of Mount Tai shines brightest．
作为中国唯一一座高山孔子庙，

孔子庙坐落于岱顶天街中段北侧，
The Confucius Temple is located on the north side of the middle section of Tianjie Street on the summit of Mount Tai．
背依崖壁，坐北朝南。
With the cliff at its back， it faces south．
正殿五间，
The main hall consists of five rooms，
左右配殿各三间。
and there are three rooms in each of the side halls on the left and right．
三间山门古朴大气，
The three mountain gates are simple and grand．
正门“孔子庙”三字苍劲有力，
The three characters“Confucius Temple” on the main gate are vigorous and powerful．
两侧石刻对联
The stone－carved couplets on both sides read，
“仰之弥高，
“The higher we revere，
钻之弥坚，
the deeper we delve—
可以语上也；
such is supreme wisdom；
出乎其类，
To transcend the ordinary，
拔乎其萃，
to rise above—
宜若登天然”，
as natural as ascending heaven．”
深刻诠释了孔子学说的博大精深，
These couplets profoundly interpret the broad and profound nature of Confucius’ teachings
也表达出后世对孔子及其儒家思想的无限尊崇。
and also express the infinite reverence of later generations for Confucius and his Confucian thoughts．
这座庙始建于明嘉靖年间，
First built during the Ming Jiajing reign （1522－1566）
清康熙十五年重建，
and rebuilt in Kangxi 15th year （1676），
庙内除主祀孔子，
the temple enshrines Confucius
还供奉颜回、曾子、孟子、子思“四配”
alongside the“Four Correlates” （Yan Hui， Zengzi， Mencius， Zisi）
及“十二贤哲”，传承着儒家思想的脉络。
and“Twelve Sages”， perpetuating Confucianism’s lineage．
孔子生于鲁国，
Confucius was born in the State of Lu
常活动于泰山周边，
and often traveled around Mount Tai．
对泰山满怀深情。
He had deep affection for this mountain．
《诗经》中“泰山岩岩，鲁邦所詹”，
The line“Majestic as Mount Tai， the pride of Lu” in The Book of Songs
便是他对泰山雄伟的称赞。
is his praise for the grandeur of Mount Tai．
登上泰山后，
After climbing Mount Tai，
孔子发出“登泰山而小天下”的感慨。
Confucius exclaimed，“Ascending Mount Tai， the world seems small．”
多次的泰山之行，
His numerous trips to Mount Tai
深刻影响了他儒家学说的形成与升华。
profoundly influenced the formation and sublimation of his Confucian theory．
正如明代严云霄所写
Just as Yan Yunxiao of the Ming Dynasty wrote，
“孔子圣中之泰山，
“Confucius is the Mount Tai of sages；
泰山岳中之孔子”，
Mount Tai is the Confucius among peaks．”
孔子与泰山紧密相连。
Confucius is closely connected with Mount Tai．
孔子借泰山的至高，
By borrowing the loftiness of Mount Tai，
抒发以天下为己任的人生理想，
Confucius expressed his life ideal of taking the world as his responsibility．
这种精神不断传承，
This spirit has been continuously passed down，
它促使人们将个人命运与国家、民族紧密相连，
prompting people to closely connect their personal fates with those of the country and the nation，
逐渐形成“天下兴亡，匹夫有责”的价值观念，
gradually forming the value concept that“everyone is responsible for the rise and fall of the country”．
让中华民族在面对困难时团结一心、众志成城。
This enables the Chinese nation to unite as one and work together with one heart when facing difficulties．
岱顶孔子庙，这座屹立在泰山之巅的文化瑰宝，

bears the essence of Confucianism
