On March 13 to 14, Alister Jones, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the University of Waikato in New Zealand, led a delegation to visit Shandong University.
3月13日至14日,新西兰怀卡托大学常务副校长Alister Jones率团访问山东大学。
During the meeting, Ren Youqun, Party Secretary of Shandong University, stated that the close ties between China and New Zealand have laid a solid foundation for international cooperation in the field of education. He conveyed his expect that both sides will leverage their unique strengths in complementary key disciplines, enhance exchanges and interactions between faculties and students, expand joint student cultivation models, and utilize resources from international platforms of scientific research projects to further broaden the scope of collaborative disciplines. This will pave the way for a new chapter in higher education exchange and cooperation between the two countries.
山东大学党委书记任友群表示,中国与新西兰两国交往密切,为教育领域国际合作建立了良好基础。希望双方发挥优势学科相似互补的独特优势,增进师生交流互动,拓展学生联合培养模式,借助国际科研项目平台资源,进一步扩大合作学科领域,为中新高等教育交流合作书写新篇章。
Alister Jones introduced the development of the University of Waikato and expressed his hope that both sides can explore and expand new cooperation paths in areas such as international education and the enhancement of faculty's and students' capabilities, jointly opening up new frontiers in international educational cooperation.

During the visit, the delegation met with the Department of International Affairs and the School of Management of Shandong University to conduct in-depth discussion and exchange on student cultivation, faculty collaboration, and academic cooperation. In addition, the delegation also visited the Center for Research and Experience of Traditional Chinese Culture and Shandong University Museum.
访问期间,代表团与国际事务部、管理学院座谈交流,就学生培养、师资协作、学术合作等进行深入研讨。代表团还参观了中华传统文化研究与体验基地和山东大学博物馆。
