Rain Water is the second solar term among the twenty－four Solar Terms

位于每年正月十五前后

falling around the 15th day of the first lunar month each year

此时冰雪融化东风解冻

At this time， ice and snow melt， the east wind thaws the earth

散而为雨滋润万物

and the moisture scatters as rain， nourishing all living things

正如唐代诗人杜甫在《春夜喜雨》中所描绘

Just as the Tang Dynasty poet Du Fu described in his poem‘Delighted by Rain on a Spring Night’

“好雨知时节，当春乃发生。

Good rain knows its season， it falls just when spring comes

随风潜入夜，润物细无声。”

With the wind it sneaks in at night， subtly nourishing all things

雨水时节春意盎然草木萌动鸿雁北归

During the Rain Water period， spring is in full bloom， plants begin to sprout， wild geese return north

大地呈现出一派生机勃勃的景象

and the earth presents a lively scene of vitality

而在农耕方面随着气温回升

In terms of farming， as temperatures rise，

广大农民抢抓农时播种希望

farmers seize the opportunity to sow seeds of hope

雨水时节南北方食俗各异

During Rain Water， food customs vary between the north and south．

南方人喜食鲜嫩春笋

Southerners enjoy fresh bamboo shoots

寓意节节高升

symbolizing continuous progress

北方人则摘食美味鲜香的荠菜有益健康

while northerners pick and eat delicious shepherd＇s purse， which is beneficial to health雨水节气虽然带来了春意

Although the Rain Water solar term brings the warmth of spring

但天气仍然乍暖还寒气温波动较大

the weather is still unsettled with large fluctuations in temperature．

应遵循春捂秋冻

People should follow the advice of dressing warmly in spring and lightly in autumn

不要急于减少衣物以免受寒感冒

and not rush to reduce clothing to avoid catching a cold

在这一时节保持身体的温暖与健康
