On the day of the Beginning of Winter， people like to eat dumplings in Lingcheng district of Dezhou city． Eating dumplings on this day means the greetings for winter， and there is still a folk saying that goes， If you don’t eat dumplings on the Beginning of Winter， your feet will get cold．

在陵城，立冬这天人们都喜欢吃饺子，这一天吃饺子有“迎冬”之意，至今民间还流传着“立冬不食饺，寒从脚下生”的民间谚语。

If you ask me what winter tastes like， I will tell you it’s the fragrant roasted sweet potato， because the aroma represents the warmth that cannot be let go of in winter．
