Cold Dew， as the 17th solar term among the twenty－four solar terms，

不仅是秋季的第五个节气

is not only the fifth solar term in autumn

更是天气由凉爽向寒冷过渡的转折点

but also a turning point of the weather from cool to cold．

随着寒露的到来

With the arrival of Cold Dew，

昼夜温差逐渐增大

the temperature difference between day and night gradually increases．

早晨和夜晚的凉意愈发明显

The coolness in the morning and night becomes more and more obvious．

古人根据寒露的特点

According to the characteristics of Cold Dew，

将这一时期划分为三候

the ancients divided this period into three periods：

鸿雁来宾

wild geese come as guests，

雀入大水为蛤

sparrows enter the big water and turn into clams

菊有黄华

and chrysanthemums has yellow flowers．

寒露时节

In the season of Cold Dew，

金秋满山层林尽染

golden autumn fills the mountains， and the forests are dyed layer by layer．

漫山红叶如霞似锦

The red leaves all over the mountains are like clouds．

飒飒的秋风吹散斜阳

The rustling autumn wind scatters the setting sun．

蓝天之下尽显秋色斑斓

Under the blue sky， the colorful autumn is fully displayed．

秋天已深，冬天将至

Autumn is deepening and winter is approaching．
