园林遗珠何家花园、水美鱼肥的五龙潭、好吃好玩的周公祠街、鲁丰1908创意园，它们都在天桥区制锦市街道。那么，你知道制锦市这个名字的来历吗？

Here come the He Family Garden, a legacy of Chinese gardens, the Five Dragon Pool with lucid water and rich fish, the Zhougongci Street with tasty food and amusement, and the Lufeng Creative Park 1908. So, do you know the origin of the name"Zhijinshi"?

制锦制锦，一听好像和纺织印染有关。确实，纺织印染离不开水，制锦市有泺河、东流水、西圩壕、小涯河，后来又专门拓挖生产渠，用水方便自然就成了纺织建厂的首选。这里不仅诞生了电视剧《大染坊》的原型东元盛印染厂，还有鲁丰、泰祥顺、中兴城等众多纺织印染老号。另外，山东铜元局、济南电灯公司、宏济堂阿胶、泺源造纸厂、成记面粉厂等也在此建厂兴业。锦缠街、纸坊胡同、铜元局前街后街，从这些街名上，我们就能大致窥见当年的样子。

Zhijin (brocade making) sounds related to textile printing and dyeing. Indeed, textile printing and dyeing rely on water. Zhijinshi naturally becomes the preference for textile plants, as there are Luohe River, Dongliushui Street, Xiweihao River and Xiaoya River, as well as the production canals specially dug for the easy access to water. Not only Dongyuansheng Printing and Dyeing Factory, the prototype of the TV series Big Dyehouse, was born here, but there were also many time-honored textile brands such as Lufeng, Taixiangshun, and Zhongxingcheng. In addition, Shandong Copper Cash Bureau, Jinan Electric Lamp Company, Hongjitang Donkey-hide Gelatin, Luoyuan Paper Mill, and Chengji Flour Mill also set up factories here. We can get a glimpse of what it was like from the street names, such as Warping Brocade Street, Paper Mill Hutong, and Copper Cash Bureau Front Street and Back Street.

《续修历城县志》还记载了另一种说法，制锦市得名于一种叫“棘针（榛）”的酸枣枝，针刺锋利、质地坚硬，用来制作篱笆，贩卖“棘针”的集市也就被叫做“棘针”市，可以追溯到明代洪武年间。后来，民国济南名士杨漪取“棘针市”的谐音，将街名改为制锦市。而制锦市周围呢，也确实环绕着像筐市街、花店街、竹竿巷、杆面巷这些以商品命名的街巷。

There is another saying recorded in Continued Revision of Licheng County Annals. Zhijinshi was named after a kind of wild jujube branch called"Jizhen" with sharp thorns and hard texture, used to make fences. The market selling Jizhen was also called Jizhenshi, which can be traced back to the Hongwu period of the Ming Dynasty. Later, Yang Yi, a person with a literary reputation in Jinan in the Republic of China, took the homonym of Jizhenshi and changed the name of the street to Zhijinshi. And there are streets named after commodities around, such as Basket Street, Flower Shop Street, Bamboo Lane, and Rod Lane.
